Realizing Leadership magazine is edited by Laurie Wilhelm, MBA and dedicated to making their readers more effective leaders today and the exceptional leaders tomorrow through quality, intelligent, thought-provoking articles by a wide variety of thinkers, teachers, coaches and real-life leaders. It is issued once a month and subscription is available on Ipad.

Requirements:
Our client decided to localize their English magazine into Chinese and issue the Chinese version in the next month.

Here are some details on the project:
They forwarded the Chinese copy as well as the in-design files done in English. The job is to delete the English text and cut-and-paste the Chinese copy into the magazine and then do whatever rearranging is necessary to make it look professional.The expected there would be one round of normal edits and then what ever tidbits are left over that need to be cleaned up.

The deliverables required are:
actual magazine, 768×1024: pdf generic cover, 768×1024: png splash page, 768-1024: pdf and png icon, 72×72 and 1024×1024: png single pages: cover, toc, three other pages, tbd: png In-design files of everything. The icon is already designed and they forwarded the file to us to switch the letters into Chinese. The single pages are just screenshots of a few select pages. They expected it was to be done within limited time but with high quality.

The CCJK SOLUTION:
For the layout setting:
After the translation being done, two of our DTP (Desktop Publishing) engineers started their work for layout. As to the magazine, because the client provided us with the original format of indd, in which it was created. So it made their work more efficient to go on.

During the process, our project manager, found some places are missing translation or not appropriately translated, so we reported these problems to the client and did some changes to improve the translation quality.

After their hard-work, we have successful localized this magazine into Mandarin versions, specific to our client needs so they could issue it as soon as done right before the next month starts.
